Trusts

There are many reasons to use a trust which is why they are so individual according to your circumstances and what you are trying to achieve. Trusts can be lifetime trusts which are in force throughout your lifetime so the trust owns your assets keeping them out of your estate for Inheritance tax purposes or they can be IPDI (immediate post death interest) trusts such as a right to reside/occupy or a protective property trust which are written into your Will and come into force upon death.

There are trusts to protect vulnerable and or disabled persons, property, bereaved minors who have lost their parents/guardians, so these are just a few. Should you wish to have a trust this will be discussed at the time of instruction taking and a fact find to see if that trust would work for you. They can be a very good tool in helping negate Inheritance Tax or preserving assets for your loved ones.
